Ta-da… here comes baby!  I am about 17 weeks along and have my next appointment this Friday.

Please note: I have been asked if I am pregnant with twins… so yeah, my belly is that big and a-growin!  I am running out of options with my current wardrobe, so I’m thinking a few maternity clothes will be soon in my future.

When we ask Kingston if he wants a brother or a sister (of which I am sure he doesn’t understand what we are saying), he replies “baby (K)aya.”  Kaya is a toddler girl at daycare that he has coined his BFF.  The hubs and I honestly don’t have a preference in boy or girl… we are just excited to see Kingston interact with his very own baby.

Oh man.  When I saw the topic for today’s post, I cringed.  Our fridge has been well loved – it is a pretty sweet almond color (cue the sarcasm) and is about 20+ years old.  I decided to show our second shelf, which is currently holding the following:

• Chicken Alfredo leftovers
• Butter
• Baby carrot snack packs
• Yogurt (both Kingston’s and mine)
• Shredded cheeses

Light, how I love you in my kitchen.  While we have a way to go with our remodel, I can already tell our kitchen will be the light, bright environment we want it to be!

This picture was taken back on August 9th, on our wedding anniversary lunch/dinner.  We met up around 3:00 to eat an extremely early bird dinner (or a late lunch) and celebrate.  I figured this was a fitting photo for today, as I remembered that tomorrow marks the hubs’ and my 5 year anniversary since our first date (cue the “awes” for me, will ya?).

Okay, so I can’t really claim this photo as my own… this photo was taken by the hubs when he was outside last Thursday in our backyard.  BUT – he took it with my camera, so technically it is my photo then… right?  The photo is a close-up shot of our Holly tree… and I just LOVED the color of the berries in contrast with the snow/ice.

Over the extra-long weekend, I made this sleeve for my Kindle Touch.  I opted to buy a silicon cover for my kindle, similar to a cellphone cover.  While I have enjoyed the cover and have had no big complaints, I do have a fear of possibly scratching the screen without the added protection of a regular kindle cover.  So, I pulled out a few scraps of fabric from my collection and threw this puppy together in less than 3o minutes.  It is double protected – the inside is lined with a bright red fleece.

Chocolate peanut-butter no bake cookies were our guilty pleasure over the weekend… I made a batch last Friday, when we were in the midst of our “snomageddon and icepocalypse” here in western Washington.  Recipe found HERE.

I don’t think I have ever written about the chest of drawers that is currently functioning as our television stand.  This piece was a part of the hubs’ grandparents’ bedroom set.  It is large (our TV pictured above is 40 inches or so) and has wonderful storage.  Want to know a fun fact?  This chest of drawers was the first item the hubs’ grandparents bought when his papa received his first paycheck from the Navy.  I love it.

This is a photo of my rain boots in our 12+ inches of snow.  I am so thankful for these tall rain boots – they kept my feet dry the whole time I was outside.  The snow finally switched to rain Friday afternoon, and I have never been so happy to see the rain.  Maybe it was the stir crazy feeling we were having up in here all week…
