… and the time when we all start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. While I almost made it to midnight last night (fell asleep around 11pm – this is pretty good for me these days), I was sure to discuss my resolutions with the hubs before I fell asleep. We went over the resolutions we each made last year; thanks to this blog, I have my 2010 resolutions written down HERE. Unfortunately, I pretty much FAILED on all three accounts.
This year, both the hubs and I agreed on the same resolutions to help us both succeed:
- Live a more active lifestyle. Pre-Kingston, we both were pretty good about getting our daily exercise. Now, I don’t mean to blame our little toddler as our excuse to not fit exercise into our daily routines, we just find it harder to do anything but relax once Kingston is down for a nap or bedtime. So, both the hubs and I agreed to fit in a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day whether we like it or not. It will be good for us.
- Budget/Plan/Complete Home Improvement projects for 2011. We constantly talk about what we want to improve in our house – our dreams, if you will. This year, we will actually put a few of those plans into action. The first, of course, will be to tackle our Kitchen/downstairs living space in August 2011 (hopefully). Our first step will be to sit down on Sunday and create a more concrete budget in order to reach this goal. I am very excited about this resolution…
- Attend church/give back to our community. Pretty self-explanatory, we want to be more successful at attending church on Sundays. Also, the hubs suggested that we become more involved with volunteer work in our community – even if we only do one volunteer activity every few months…
- Kingston-centered evenings. Please don’t think we are bad parents… this resolution is simply for us to spend more quality time with Kingston playing games, building forts, reading books – actually spend time playing with him than watching him play. Sometimes it is easy for us to just sit and watch him after a busy day of work. We want to fix this.
So, there you have it. Seem like pretty doable resolutions.
We can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store for us… it will be a great year, I can feel it!
